Don't count on New York's Finest knowing the law. When
I was in law school there (i.e., 35 years ago) some
copy gave me a ticket for driving a "commercial
vehicle" (i.e., a station wagon) without the gross and
net weights painted on the side.
I couldn't find the statute in the law books.
It had been repealed long before.
