REFERENCE/MEDIA SERVICES LIBRARIAN

Qualifications: MLS (ALA-accredited); JD (ABA-accredited); aptitude
and experience working with a variety of electronic resources;
effective oral and written communication skills; strong organizational
abilities; a strong public services orientation. Desirable: teaching
experience; supervisory experience.

Description: The Reference/Media Services Librarian participates in a
rotating reference schedule including evenings and weekends 14 - 18
hours per week with 4 other reference librarians; participates in the
faculty liaison program; participates in teaching legal research
classes and special research sessions offered in various classes
throughout the curriculum; maintains the law library web page;
supervises student workers for law school media services;
assists in the analysis and evaluation of the technology needs of the

Salary: Entry level is $40,000, but commensurate with experience and
qualifications.

Mercer Law Library serves approximately 400 law students and 30 law
faculty. This position is part of a library staff of six librarians
and eight support staff. The Law School is part of a dynamic
university with degree programs in medicine, pharmacy, engineering,
business, education and theology. The University has over 7000
students on its Macon and Atlanta campuses. Mercer Law School is
located in a beautifully restored historic district in downtown Macon,
which is a city of 150,000 known for its antebellum mansions,
cottages, churches, and interesting museums. Macon's moderate climate
and moderate cost of living, as well as its proximity to Atlanta, make
