Nixon Peabody LLP is currently seeking candidates to fill two full-time
positions in its NYC Information Services Department.
Assistant Reference Librarian
Responsibilities include: Provide general and indepth reference/information
assistance for attorneys and staff. Conduct traditional and electronic
research using Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw, Dialog as well as Internet-based
databases. Assist with orientation and training of new attorneys and legal
assistants. Provide user support for firm's attorney work product collection
and research sources on firm's intranet/portal. Provide interlibrary loan
support as needed. Assist with preparation of Library bulletin. Assist with
AV setups. Back up coverage for routing, filing, mail check-in, shelving.
Proficiency with Lexis, Westlaw, D&B, and the Internet required. Excellent
communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are also a must.
Qualifications:
* BA required
* MLS preferred
* Minimum 2 years reference experience, law firm experience helpful
Hours:
9:30 am - 6:00 pm
Some overtime may be required
Salary:
Commensurate with experience
Library Assistant:
Duties for this position include: Provide quick reference/information
assistance for attorneys and staff. Daily mail check-in, claiming, and
routing. Some vendor contact involved. Maintaining physical appearance of
library including shelving of books and periodicals. Loose leaf filing and
inserting pocket parts and supplements and rotation of advance sheets.
Interlibrary loan support. Shelf read library on a regular basis. Other
special projects per Manager of Information Services. Organizational skills
and attention to detail a must.
Qualifications:
* BA required
* Minimum 2 years library experience, law firm experience helpful
Hours:
8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Some overtime may be required
