HEAD OF TECHNICAL SERVICES
The Minnesota State Law Library is seeking an individual to fill the Head of
Technical Services Department position.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Coordinate the collection development plan and
acquisition activities; supervise and manage the technical services staff in
the library; plan and manage technical services projects by evaluating
technical services priorities through budgetary preparation; provide legal
reference assistance to library patrons; evaluate and implement technology
for a variety of online systems in the library; coordinate the library's
government documents and serials programs and consult with the director of
library services and other department heads to facilitate effective
execution of technical services activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Masters in Library Science
* 2 - 3 years supervisory experience
* 2 - 3 years technical services experience
* Knowledge of OCLC; cataloging, serials and acquisitions
* Knowledge of legal materials and publishers
* Basic computer and word processing skills
* Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with others
DESIRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
* Knowledge of general accounting practices
* Knowledge of general database management
SALARY RANGE: $29,357 - $46,357
