will work closely with the library to install and support the various electronic
research tools
that we make available to our users, as well as with other departments such as
dockets

Description:
Under the guidance of the Senior Applications Analyst, selected candidate will
support and maintain new and existing practice-specific applications, as well as
library research tools. Candidate will interact directly with end-users to
provide applications support and software upgrades. Candidate's
responsibilities will also include working with members of several other areas
of the IT Department, including the Help Desk, Desktop Support, Operations and
Engineering.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three years of law-firm technology related experience.
- Working knowledge/experience with popular practice-specific applications,
library and research tools, specifically, but not limited to, the following:
· Westlaw, Lexis-Nexis, CCH, CourtLink, Crosstalk, CT Advantage, DataCase,
FAS, MA3000, PACER, ZyIndex
- Familiarity with SydneyPlus, ISYS, and/or LegalKey a plus.
- General knowledge of dial-up applications and configuration.
- Experience with Windows95 and Netware 4.x.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with Lotus Notes, Microsoft Access, WINInstall, ZenWorks or NAL a
plus
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently on multiple
projects.
- Demonstrate creative problem solving, analytical, and troubleshooting
abilities.
- Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.
Principle Responsibilities:
- Software installation including client set-up and configuration.
- Creation and maintenance of end-user documentation, as well as technical
installation, procedure and maintenance manuals.
- Coordination with Engineering regarding software distribution packages.
- Coordination with Operations regarding NDS groups and network rights.
- Provide appropriate training or training materials to end-users, and/or
coordinate end-user training by vendor.
- Familiarize the Help Desk and Desktop Support with applications; identify
general set-up and configuration issues which either area may be able to
troubleshoot and resolve for end-users.
- Work directly with end-users in analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving
application support issues.
- Maintain applications, including software upgrades.
- Direct interaction with vendors, specifically technical support, regarding
technical issues and software upgrades.
- Monitor vendor web sites regarding bugs, patches and upgrades.
Salary commensurate with experience.
