As I understand it, the "Show Matches" link beneath the results item shows
the cached results, while clicking on the main item link would take you to
the current page.

Subject: Change in Google
I use Google as a Web search engine all the time and just noticed this
morning that the Cached Results feature seems to have disappeared. This had
been an extremely useful item - when a search hits on an article in an
online periodical, very often the direct search result link takes you not to
the article but to the current issue of the periodical. The cached result
took you to the actual article, stored by Google.
Anybody have any knowledge as to why the change?
