In this morning's mail, I received a small box of notecards from Lexis
Xchange for library week.
I also got a credit card solicitation addressed exactly the same:
Mary Margaret Serpento
Kitch Drutchas/Xchange
The Lexis customer support denied that they had anything to do with it, that
several entities call themselves Xchange, and that I should call the
soliciting bank instead. Never mind that the two addresses are identical.
I tried to point out that I was calling them to stop the sale of my name to
credit card solicitors. The rep took my phone number and said they'd look
into it and notify my local rep, but it wasn't them. He put me on hold in
mid-sentence and never came back. The connection cut off awhile later.
Considering the potential for identity theft and related problems, people
might want to be on the
lookout for these credit solicitations.
Juste mes .02 euros,
Mary Margaret Serpento
