In Steve's defense, he is a legitimate businessperson in Los Angeles, who
provides responsive, reliable services to Los Angeles Librarians. I am sure
the virus was attached accidentally.

It is entirely possible that the sender/creator of an attachment does not
know that it contains a Word virus. If one does not have an up-to-date virus
program, there is no way know of knowing. Viruses like to attack files and
they like to do this silently so that the carrier unwittingly infects other
people's files. That's how they spread. Before anyone flames this guy or
sends his name to his ISP or posts him on a hackers list, you might want to
do more investigation and at least give him a chance to defend himself. He
*may* be perfectly innocent.
