MicroPatent will be one of the discussion topics at the PLL IP Subgroup at
AALL. Look for our meeting on Monday, July 17 at (yikes!) 7:00 a.m.

As far as full patent text, for 1976-present, you can't beat the U.S.P.T.O.
web site (http://patents.uspto.gov/). Full image retieval is best through
the E.P.O.'s espacenet service (http://ep.espacenet.com/). Both are free.
Questel has recently added full-text too, but only for the 1970's onward.

I haven't seen a notice of this change at Corporate Intelligence yet. Their
web site (http://www.1790.com/) is silent. Do you know if this affects
merely their e-mailing service or if it effects everything? What of their
.RTF versions? And what will become of the pre-1975 patent collection? To
date Corporate Intelligence has been the sole source for instant downloads
of most of these older patents, both in .PDF and .RTF formats.

Please keep us posted.

Subject: Full Text Patents

One of our legal assistants has informed me that Ipat will cease to exist
next Friday as a result of being bought out by Micropatent. Is anyone using
(and loving) any other Internet sources (besides Ipat or Micropatent) for
full text patent retrieval that give you the look of the originals at a
reasonable source? I'll summarize for the list.

TIA, and Happy Friday,
Amy
