I recently found some differences in web v. software searching
on LEXIS that you might find interesting. I started this search
at the Reference Desk where we have software installed. It was
a voluminous search and I got the message that it would bring
more than 1,000 hits and did I want to continue? Yes I did. I
had some printing problems which took up some time and I had
to finish my research in my office where I don't have software
installed and the web version wouldn't let me override the 1,000
hits block. I had to limit my search and do it in two stages to get
the information I needed. If this had just been for my personal
use, I wouldn't have minded much but this was for the law school
administration and I would have preferred it in a neater package.
