legal.online was purchased by American Lawyer Media and ceased publication
around June (?) 1999. It was folded into The Internet Newsletter, which is
at http://www.ljx.com/newsletters/internet/index.html
My guess is that American Lawyer media either forgot, or neglected, to shut
down the Website, or was honoring unexpired subscriptions by keeping up the
old site.
IMHO, legal.online was at least an order of magnitude better than The
Internet Newsletter, which evaluates far fewer Websites and does a more
superficial job.

Does anyone know what happened to www.legalonline.com? We haven't been able
to get on in close to two weeks (message comes back as no response, server
is down). They had particularly useful lists of Internet sites with court
opinions, and while we are aware of other lists, found LegalOnline's lists
