Position open--County law library and University

From: Bryan Carson (Bryan.Carson@wku.edu)
Date: Tue Mar 21 2000 - 19:17:05 PST

Dear All:

When I left the field of law librarianship last year to become head of
reference at Western Kentucky University, I didn't really leave law
libraries
behind. Under a unique arrangement, Western Kentucky University is
designated
as the county law library. The law library is located in the basement of
our
library, and we have merged reference services.

Currently we are looking for a half-time law librarian. This person
would be
considered the Warren County Law Librarian, and would have
non-tenure-track
faculty rank. The position involves 20 hours per week, including 9 hours
at
the reference desk. Some of these hours could be worked on nights and
weekends.

Western Kentucky University is a comprehensive university of
approximately
15,000 students, located in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Bowling Green, a
city of
50,000 people, is 2 hours south of Louisville and one hour north of
Nashville. Many people commute to jobs in Nashville.

If there is anyone out there, particularly in Kentucky or Tennessee, who
is
interested, please be sure to see the Human Resources Website at
http://www.wku.edu/Dept/Support/HR/ for an online application form. You
might
also wish to see the library's page at http://www.wku.edu/Library/ and
the Law
Library page at http://www.wku.edu/Library/dlps/lawlib.htm I have
attached
the job description below.
