Law Librarians of Puget Sound (LLOPS) is again a host site for the
satellite videoconference, but this year we are trying something new:
we'll be showing it the next day.

In past years, we have found that our members enjoyed the local
programming (speakers and discussion groups) that we had following the
videoconference but sometimes thought the 90 minute videoconference was a
little long to sit through passively. So this year we are going to tape
the videoconference on Thursday. A panel will watch it Thursday evening.
And then Friday, we'll show it at our spring professional development
workshop, stopping it at intervals to interject panel and audience
discussion. I think it should make a stimulating program.

(I'll confess that this innovative use of the videoconference arose
because we had trouble finding a suitable room for the live downlink --
but once we came up with the idea, it seemed like a pretty good one.)

Having our workshop on a Friday also makes this more attractive for
out-of-town participants -- you can come for our educational programming
on Friday and then stay the weekend to enjoy Seattle. Registration
information is at
