Dear IAMSLICers
"The time has come the walrus said..."
I've decided to enter a new, and I hope enjoyable, stage in life and
retire. This takes effect from 1 July and in using up all my recreation
leave, my last day at work will be 13 May.
Thank you for the friendships of the last 17 years and all your help and
support when it was needed. It was wonderful to have so many of you here
last September at the Hobart conference. I have got to know so many of
you from all parts of the World and in many cases been in daily contact
with you in the last four years.
My heartfelt thanks to all those on the executive and conference
committees who've been there with me, given help and shown forbearance.
There's been plenty of hard work and many anxious moments, but enjoyment
and friendship as well.
I may meet you again and even though the chances are much reduced now
that I'm leaving work and won't be attending conferences, you now know
what inveterate travellers Australians are. Needless to say,if you visit
Hobart please get in touch.
It will be a wrench to leave behind my close association with IAMSLIC,
but thanks to my honorary membership it will not be a complete break.
Without question IAMSLIC has been the highlight of my career.
Regards, Denis
