Dear IAMSLIC Members,
The polls are now open for current IAMSLIC members to vote in the annual
election of IAMSLIC Officers.
Most IAMSLIC members will NOT receive a paper ballot this year. The
electronic voting system will be your only opportunity to vote.
Two candidates have been nominated for IAMSLIC President-Elect 2005-2006:
Marcel Brannemann of the Alfred Wegener Institute and Jean Crampon of the
University of Southern California.
Two candidates have also been nominated for Secretary (2003-2005): Kathy
Heil of the University of Maryland and Elizabeth Winiarz of the University
of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. Biographical statements from each of the
candidates are available at
http://library.csumb.edu/voting/iamslic_biogs.html for your consultation.
Voting will take place through Wednesday, 8 October 2003, using the new
confidential electronic voting system that has been set up for IAMSLIC.
When using the system for the first time, you need to assign yourself a
voter password, which will then serve as your password for future votes as
well. Go to http://library.csumb.edu/voting/newiamslic.php and select your
name from the pulldown list. Your initial, temporary password is "new"
(without the quotation marks). Once you have assigned yourself a password
of your own, you will be taken to the list of current ballots. Click on the
IAMSLIC2003_001 ballot, authenticate yourself again using your new
password, and proceed to vote.
If your name does not appear on the list of voters and you believe that
your IAMSLIC membship is current, please contact Barbara Butler, Membership
Database Manager, at butler@darkwing.uoregon.edu to verify your membership
status. If you have problems with access to the electronic voting system or
you cannot remember a password you assigned yourself previously, please
contact Steve Watkins at steve_watkins@csumb.edu for assistance.
A small number of paper ballots were mailed to selected members. If you
received a paper ballot and you prefer to use the electronic voting system,
please destroy the paper ballot you received.
