    Dear Martha

I cannot see you wander off onto the velde without a fond farewell. Thank
you for your contribution to IAMSLIC, especially for your efficient and
diligent work as secretary of IAMSLIC.

Many members will miss you and Peter at our conferences and some of us rue
the lost chance for post conference birding near Stellenbosch. Some of those
same people would feel the same about the wine. Sometime next year as
September approaches I might wish you were still hosting the first
    conference in the Southern Hemisphere.

Best wishes for satisfaction and fulfillment in your new work role.

    regards, Denis

    Denis Abbott
    President, IAMSLIC

    Subject: [IAMSLIC:2827] Resignation

Last week I received the invoice for the renewal of my IAMSLIC membership.
Since my appointment in the new job as Communications Officer a year ago, I
have moved away from information management, and now focus on a totally
different aspect of information dissemination. It is therefore with great
sadness that I herewith resign from IAMSLIC, since I will not renew my
    membership of the organisation.

After South Africa's re-entry into the international world, it was a
privilege for me to be able to make contact and work with colleagues from
all over the world. I was most fortunate to attend six of the annual IAMSLIC
conferences in a row, enjoying every one of them.

My best wishes to all the friends that I have made in the organisation - may
IAMSLIC go from strength to strength. Just a great pity that we did not
manage to be the first country in the Southern Hemisphere to host the annual
conference! To all the IAMSLIC birding enthusiasts, a warm invitation to
come to southern Africa for a unique birding experience! To the wine-lovers,
come and share a glass or more of the country's best!

    Best wishes to all!
    Regards

    Martha Pretorius
