    Jon,

    I never heard or experienced that anyone orders a book in
    a library or in a bookstore by using the ISBN, besides librarians!

    I should say, that librarians won't have problems using DOIs for
    finding documents - but we are not the ones working with the
    documents and citing them ... We are the ones to have to help
    our clients find the documents though the citations are often wrong.

    I agree completely with Peter's considerations!
