Dear Friends

I have a couple of questions about contribution numbers:-
If you or your organisation provides contrib. numbers (in USA I believe
Federal orgs must supply)
what receives a number:-
a) everything published
                 articles (non peer reviewed)
                 journal articles
                 reports
                         -technical
                         -consultancy ????
                 conference papers
                 abstracts
                 posters?
                 presentations?
                 books
                 book chapters
OR
are you selective?

Who supplies the contribution number?
When is it assigned to the material?

How do you deal with staff who send material to the publisher electronically?

PS I am still waiting to hear from those of you who expressed a vague
interest in a secondment or exchange!!!!!
