    Barbara,

    I just received UT Austin's Library Bulletin. One of the featured articles
    is about new laptop check-out service.

    "Laptops can now be checked out in the Undergraduate Library (UGL) by
    students, faculty, and staff with a current UT ID. These laptops are for
    use only within the building and are available for check-out on a
    first-come, first-served basis. Library users will be able to use these
    laptops to research online library resources and the World Wide Web, send
    e-mail, write papers, and complete assignments using Microsoft Office tools
    such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
          The thirty Dell Latitude C610 laptops are configured as follows:
    * 1 GHz Pentium III processor
    * 14.1 XGA display
    * 128 MB RAM
    * 20 GB Hard drive, DVD drive, Floppy drive "

    We at the Marine Science Library do not have this service. The
    Undergraduate Library is a separate library from the main library in Austin.
