    Barb,
Some of the small USM campus libraries are trying circulation of
laptops from the library. To the best of my knowledge main campus is Not.
We are a marine lab/field station. We have a couple of laptops that
circulate out of the booking system on campus, but they are only for use
in seminars on campus and must be picked up and returned in a few hours
time span. I did get one lap top for the Library, but have not advertised
it's availability. We just upgraded all 5 of the Library computers this
year (4 pc's & 1 mac). The Library Laptop is set up to access the campus
network and has all the "bells & whistles" anyone could want. I have used
it on campus to do powerpoints and have it for if there is an overload on
    the Library PC's.
