*** I am re-posting for those who have recently signed on to the new IAMSLIC listserv (original message sent 27 April). ***
Bonjour,
Some librarians need a "letter of invitation" to obtain a VISA or administrative authorization to attend a conference. Because the 2001 IAMSLIC/EURASLIC conference is in France this October, some of you may need to make VISA arrangements, soon.
The last few months before the conference will be very busy, and we want to ensure you obtain all necessary documentation in a timely manner.
<ACTION> If you need a "letter of invitation" to attend the October conference, let me know soon, so we can prepare and deliver the correspondence.
To answer your travel questions, the conference web page now includes "Tools for Travelers" at http://www.nefsclibrary.nmfs.gov/2001iamslic/2001tools.html .
The French Ministry for Foreign Affairs website includes information about required travel documents and other relevant information for travelers to France. You can choose to view the Ministry pages in French, English, German or Spanish language. http://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/ . Do you need a visa to travel to the IAMSLIC/EURASLIC conference in Brest, France? The French Ministry for Foreign Affairs provides VISA information for travelers from all countries, online.
In English (for example)

Merci beaucoup,
Susan
