New research findings linking alcoholism as an established risk factor for
suicide demonstrate need for suicide risk recognition and prevention
efforts targeted to middle- and older-adults with alcohol dependence. The
most important findings were that interpersonal factors including marital
and other partner difficulties were associated with suicide risk in this
population. These new findings from researchers at the University of
Rochester will be presented on April 26 at the 36th Annual AAS Conference
in Santa Fe.
