========= IT/TRC INSTRUCTIONAL LAPTOP LOAN PROGRAM =========
Information Technology and the Teaching Resources Center collaborate
on a program in which faculty members may apply to borrow a laptop
computer to use in a UCD classroom for one academic quarter.
OBJECTIVE: to enable instructors who do not have access to a laptop
to experiment with the in-class use of a computer.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must be:
1) Scheduled to teach in a UCD classroom with
computer video projection, in Summer Session 2.
Check the classroom lookup page if you are unsure of
the facilities in the room you are scheduled to teach:

Look for media level '3n'.
OR
have confirmed access to a portable video projector
from AV Equipment Loan or elsewhere.
2) Willing and able to provide or prepare their own materials.
3) Willing to work with TRC to evaluate the experience,
during and at the end of the quarter.

Note: The most competitive applications include some specific
information on the logistical and/or pedagogical benefits
sought by the applicant through classroom use of a laptop.

Applications received by Thursday, July 20th will
be reviewed first. If some laptops remain unassigned,
late applications will be considered.
Assistance is available from IT and TRC regarding:
-acquisition and use of equipment and software
-multimedia design and production
-orientation to technical and pedagogical aspects of
using the assigned classroom effectively
