G3 300MHz and 350MHz: IDE is supported. Non-differential SCSI is supported with the use of an ATTO, Adaptec single channel non-differential card or the Initio Miles card.
The G3/400 comes with an Adaptec 2940U2W which is a differential SCSI card. EditDV and MotoDV are not compatible with this differential SCSI interface. Non-differential SCSI is supported with the use of an ATTO, Adaptec single channel non-differential card or the Initio Miles card.
Hi People,
I have B&W G3/400. Edit DV and Moto DV package is on it's way to me from Digital Origin by courier.
I have just read the computability statement above, which leaves me in deep doo-doo. I have visited DO site many times, before making my final decision, but have never seen the message above, maybe it's a new entry.
Is there any way out of this mess I've gotten myself into?
Can I buy and insert an ATTO, Adaptec single channel non-differential card or the Initio Miles card?
Or is it possible to capture & edit PAL video form a Canon XL1 on the G3/400 with an NTSC version of Finalcut Pro, using the keyboard programming software?
Please help, I'm really pissed that I've wasted $650 and I'm still no closer to finishing my already late project.
Thankyou, Bob Slatyer.
