For those who happen to think that Firewire cards are the only video PC
card solution for PowerBooks... I just got this via press release and thought
I'd pass it along.
> PAR Technologies will be unveiling the CapSure Pro: the first ever,
> full motion video capture card designed for Mac Powerbooks that
> will input streamed video via a cam-corder, VCR, digital camera,
> etc., and then export the real-time, decompressed video, back out
> to a high-end deck.
> The CapSure Pro, which streams video into and out of the laptop at
> 30 frames per second and 60 fields per second without compromising
> the picture or taxing the processor, is designed to be the ultimate
> non-linear editing system for the mobile warrior. It has hardware
> compression on board, requires no external power, and will have a
> MSRP hovering around only $550.
> With the Reel-Edit software which is included for free, you can create
> your own home movies, business presentations, music videos, short
> films, wedding tapes, etc. -- and edit them all from your laptop!
Very interesting times indeed.
