Sony Floppy in PowerBook?

Actually, this _is_ on topic... I got this floppy adaptor with my new
TRV-900 DV camcorder. It's a tiny little floppy drive hard connected to a PC
card. I thought... "Hey! My PowerBook has a PC card slot... lets plug it in!"
The PC card _is_ recognized as an "External FDD" in about ten seconds. A
little icon appears on my desktop that allows me to eject the PC card by
telling the computer to "put away" the External FDD. I stick a floppy in the
drive and it makes one little grunt, but doesn't spin up. No floppy icon
appears on the desktop. I didn't think it would but I was SO encouraged by
the correct PC card icon and text that I thought that it just, might, work!
I got just the basic Apple PC card drivers... System 8.5. I wonder if
there is other software out there to make this floppy adaptor usable on my
PowerBook... and more importantly, on the new G3 Series 99 PowerBooks that
don't have a floppy. Sure, you can use a USB floppy, or a SuperDisk, but for
the video folks who already have _this_ floppy adaptor... it just would be
_so_ cool.
