Hello, all -
Please forgive if this has been covered before (if so, please point me to an archive or a FAQ). I am in the process of converting over to a digital camcorder / firewire setup. I currently have a Radius Videovision (Nubus) setup w/ Adobe Premiere 4.2.1. I have already ordered one of the new B&W G3's and I currently am trying out a Sony Digital Video Camera Recorder Model# DCR-PC1. This is my first venture into editing, as my primary use for the VideoVision setup was to digitize video for film scoring.
My main application will be experimental short videos and music videos and I have a feature in the works, with the eventual hope of transfer to film (like Celebration).
My questions:
(1) Can anyone give me pros / cons about this camera? Other recommendations?
(2) Editing software: Would Final Cut Pro be worth it? Unfortunately my version of Premiere came pre-installed on my computer (I bought it used) and I will have to purchase a software package to install on my new G3.
