We have just begun recording VO's directly into our Sound Forge software this
very week for several commercials. We simply feed the mike through a Mackie
mixer for a tad more convenient level control, calibrate the zero dB on the
Mackie and the Sound Forge to agree, and off we go.

It's quite practical. The Seagate 9 gig holds way over 2 hours of "keepers"
at stereo CD-quality sample rate. We send the poor takes directly into
digital oblivion limbo without saving; and can quickly piece together bits
from different takes to make The One True And Perfect Take.

I love Sound Forge... Don't know how I ever lived without it.

Oh! ---By the by, it runs nicely on a Windoze95 machine...
