Another solution is a cheapie VHS camcorder and Sony's soon to be announced
(meaning... it's not shipping now, or tomorrow) DVMC-DA1 firewire converter
box.
Here are your specs...
PAL in PAL out...NTSC in NTSC out
Firewire I/O port, Two Y/C S-video ports (In & Out)
2 RCA Video analog ports also (In & Out)
4 Stereo Audio jacks left & right (In & Out)
12 bit or 16 bit Audio compatible
A/C is 6 volts
Weight is TEN (10) ounces
5" X 2" X 3.5" deep

This way they can break the $300-$500 camcorder and you can fix it, or get
another one. Or maybe those Circuit City warranties may cover you. ;-)

I believe that 10/100 ethernet, especially with OS 8.5 network copy
improvements, will provide the speed needed for most people to shove their
files around.

I can provide affordable 10/100 base-t hubs for those looking to improve
their network performance.
