HEURIS' MPEG Power Professional is a SOFTWARE-based MPEG encoder. MPEG
Power Professional costs $500 and will create Constant Bit Rate MPEG-1
streams. MPEG Power Professional-2 costs $1,500 and will create CBR
MPEG-1 and CBR MPEG-2 streams. MPEG Power Professional-DVD costs $2,500
and will create CBR MPEG-1, CBR MPEG-2, and Variable Bit Rate MPEG-2
(for DVD) streams.
It currently takes us about 10 seconds to turn 1 second of QT video into
MPEG-1 on a decent machine.
MPEG Power Professional reads the following file formats:
- Avid OMF
- Media 100 QuickTime
- Matrox Digisuite AVI
- DPS Perception AVI
- Standard QuickTime
- Standard AVI
The drill is to create you clip and get it to one of the supporting file
formats. You then go into MPEG Pro and tell it what clip you want to
convert and if you want to create an MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 stream. it's
pretty simple.
What kind of editing system do you use?
What else do you need to know?
