You could use a product like our MPEG Power Professional ($500) to
convert AVI files into MPEG-1 streams.
QuickTime does not currently support MPEG export except when using a
QuickTime export like HEURIS' MPEG Export Engine.
You can insert MPEG-1 into Powerpoint and it will look much better than
AVI. I have done this myself. PowerPoint will automatically invoke
Microsoft's Media Player to play the stream. Be sure to get 5.0 of the
Media Player from the Microsoft web site.
