To cut a long story a little shorter I have analysed the two movies in
question with startling results. (movie 1min10secs approx; 536MB!!)
All clips were digitised at the same time, at 3.5MB/sec, as usual. One
movie is ok, the other is not. The analysis of the defective movie purports
to have an average data of 7.7MB/sec (seven point seven!!) I know some of
Premiere's tools are wierd, but this is ridiculous. Clearly it's a
corrupted file, and this may explain my immediate problem, but does it
suggest that I could be experiencing data corruption to a lesser extent on
other material I've processed recently ? Could this explain the reemergence
of jerky output ?
I've reinstalled VVS, all of the software, and Premiere too, and the
problem has not gone, in fact the suspect movie was rendered straight after
reinstallation.
As an aside to the digvid list, It was working beautifully until just
recently, I've been so busy honing my selling tools, that my video editing
tools appear to have gone a little rusty. Anybody with a VVS got an oily
rag handy ??
cheers, alan
