What editing system do you use? What are you capturing with?

MPEG Power Professional is the most widely-used professional MPEG
encoder. The MPEG-1 engine will be bundled into Media Cleaner Pro 3.1,
which is due out in the next few weeks. You may want to wait for that.

The two big variables are frame rate and bit rate.
