I have also experienced this back focus problem. Focus goes soft on zoom
outs at the half way point. This seems to be consistant with my camera.
The strange thing is that, some say they don't have this problem, others
say there is no consistancy to the problem while others have definite
patterns. Sounds like it it could be a calibration issue.
Unfortunately, I can't afford to be without the camera for as long as it
would take to send in and get this fixed.
I would also be interested in hearing from anyone who has corrected this
problem.
