Good luck, some people seem to have a hard time getting off of this list. =
I've never tried to leave (said with a glazed and happy look in the eye).

This is an automatic mailing...it happens once a week, more or less
------------------------------------------------------------
COOKBOOK VERSION:
1) Where: Address the message to listproc@ucdavis.edu
2) "Subject:" line: If you can, leave the "Subject:" empty.=20
If you cannot, such as on AOL, then just put a dot there:=20
a period, this --> . <-- DO NOT PUT 'UNSUBSCRIBE ME, PLEASE!'=20
in the Subject because the listproc will think the message is=20
its own mail being returned.
If you find this too vague, then simply type the following
as your Subject and you will avoid this problem: "txiztu"
3) In the message body: put this --> UNSUB DIGVID-L <--
4) What to do if it doesn't work: All of the errors that you
generate with the listproc are reported to the address that
you send the message from. Read them. At the very least,=20
save them.
Mail a message to me at JPGORRONO@UCDAVIS.EDU, send me your
attempted unsub command message and/or any error messages.
You can put anything you want in that message's Subject.
5) What NOT to do if it doesn't work: Do not send letters
of manifest exasperation to everyone via the address
digvid-l. Do not ignore all messages of the list
because that would likely lead you into a vicious circle.

6) Stir well. CHEF'S PARADOX: Let stand for 5 minutes and=20
Serve immediately.

If you use MICROSOFT EXCHANGE, then PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:
Exchange attaches data to postings when setup to use MIME. I have
no idea what this data is; but, it is apparently of no use to
anyone on the receiving end. On the contrary, it is pretty annoying
to your kindred DIGVID-L members. PLEASE TURN OFF THE MIME ENCODING
IN MICROSOFT EXCHANGE. Here's a note from a member describing how
to do it...
> is just a quick note to let you know that MIME can easily be turned off
> in Microsoft Exchange. I use ME myself. I advise you to tell the folks
> that haven't turned it off on their end to do so. Have them
> A) click "Tools" from the menu bar
> B) select "Services"
> C) highlight "Internet Mail" and click "Properties"
> D) click "Message Format"
> E) unselect the "Use MIME when sending messages" checkbox

FAQ: Frequently Annoying Queeriness:
Occasionally, the listproc software will receive numerous error messages
when trying to deliver mail to certain addresses, particularly overseas
addresses. After some point, the listproc will set your mail option to
POSTPONE. You can check your mail option at any time by sending the =
command
SET DIGVID-L to listproc@ucdavis.edu, and change the option with
SET DIGVID-L MAIL <option> where <option> is ACK, NOACK, DIGEST, or =
POSTPONE.
