I've decided that after 37 years as a map librarian,
I deserve time off for good behavior :-)
So I'm retiring from the University of California
at the end of June 2009.
All of us in the Map and Imagery Lab will
be working with Lucia Snowhill - AUL for
Collection Development, to whom MIL reports - to make this
transition as smooth as possible.
I hasten to say I'm not retiring from map libraries
or from researching and writing in maps and geography -
for example, after I've retired, I'll finally have the time
to work with a map-library friend on an annotated bibliography of major
information sources in geography - so after June, I'll
often be in the library here, working on that.
Very great thanks to each of you I've worked with
over the years; I've enjoyed it very much.
