Not too long ago I asked CGS about some of the more rare publication
series of theirs which are in tatters and/or missing parts in our
collection. I asked if they planned to scan and put pubs on line and
was told flatly that they do not have time or staff. I offered to PAY
for the scanning in order to have more complete sets of a couple of
items - NO, couldn't do that either-
I do not know if anything has changed- I don't see any `free downloads'
under the Bulletin series-
I believe they are covered by copyright so a library could not scan and
put on web-

I should have mentioned that: there's nothing from California Division
of mines in either the clearinghouse or the registry.

Hi Jim,
Have you checked the WAML Scanning Projects Clearinghouse,
http://www.waml.org/clearinghouse.html
and the MAGERT Scanning Registry at
http://mapregistry.library.arizona.edu/cgi/index.pl
You probably have, but just in case... - Cynthia

I'd like to take this on, but not if anybody's already staked a claim.
