Hello Calmap,

As a follow-up to Mary's sad report about Morgan Cowles, I didn't know her
personally, but she helped me out by email when I was planning to purchase
the large scale copier/printer for UCR. She gave me a detailed and very
useful report about the equipment she used at UCSB. I'm sorry you, at MIL,
have to lose her. I am sorry I did not take the time to personally meet her
at last month's meeting.

I just warned a UCR librarian who is leaving for a snow shoe trip this
weekend to be extra careful in light of all the avalanches.

Wendie

Subject: [CALMAP:361] Morgan Cowles killed in avalanche

It saddens me to report that Morgan
has been killed this weekend in an avalanche, in the
back country of Sequoia National Forest. The only good
news is that Jason (Morgan's travel companion) is alive;
he dug Morgan out of the snow but Morgan was dead.

We will all miss Morgan very much.

Mary
