    Hi, Wendie -

My observation is that the different sizes are priced differently, i.e.,
not proportionally. Just for grins when I got a new Xerox Phaser
    printer, I figured out the cost for 8.5x11, 8.5x13, 8.5x14, 11x14,
11x17, and 11x19 (all assuming the standard coverage rules -- equal
amounts of the three colors, half again the amount of black and 35
percent paper coverage. I already had that figured out for an HP1120
(at all the same sizes), for a Canon Pixma i1700 (100 percent coverage
because I only use it for photos), and for an HP LJ6P. The Phaser,
which I would have assumed would be more than the LJ6P actually is
cheaper because of the amount of electricity used and the fact that its
"toner" which is, effectively, color crayons in strange shapes, doesn't
go bad regardless of how long it sits around (not long at my house!).

So, when I run out of toner in my LJ6P, I'll donate it to one of my
nieces who's about to start working on her senior project and will need
    a nice printer. ;~)

I am keeping the 1120 because I have lots of ink cartridges and will use
it for drafts until I use up the cartridges. Then, it will go. The
Pixma will stay 'til it dies but the Phaser does gorgeous photoprints.

    HTH.
