If you have 15-30 minutes to try this
out during the next 2 weeks, and get
back to me with questions, comments (what's
good, what doesn't work or is confusing),
    I'd appreciate it.

It's to replace the current, clunky,
    no-one-likes-it interface at
    http://webclient.alexandria.ucsb.edu/

Following is the summary writeup by
Adam Ross, the computer tech who is
    working on the new interface.

    ----------

The new ADL Webclient has gone "Beta"!

That means its time to find out what doesn't work right, what looks
funny, and what's misspelled before we show it off to the public as the
latest, greatest thing under the ADL banner. This new webclient was
made by taking the old one, giving it a facelift, and adding enough
shiny colors that the old quirks are (hopefully) not noticed. The big
concern (aside from shiny colors somehow causing partial blindness), is
that I broke something that was working before.

What I'm asking of anyone with time in the next two weeks is to go here:
    http://webtest.library.ucsb.edu:8080/globetrotter/, click everything you
can click, search everywhere you can search, and find out if things look
wrong, if your browser crashes, or if you start receiving more email
spam (just kidding, that shouldn't happen). There is no "wrong thing"
you can do in testing. If you do something and things do not look
right, its entirely possible it really isn't behaving properly. And if
something can be done that I didn't think of, I need to know ASAP so I
can program the interface to know what to do.

So far I've done testing in Firefox and IE 6. Those are the browsers
most likely to have the least problems. Seeing as there's no
documentation yet, if you have any questions, let me know. In fact, if
you have questions, that's exactly the stuff I should put into the help
pages! Thank you for reading all these words, and let the
    button-pressing begin!
