1. And here's the most current copy
of the Conspectus that I can find.
The one on the Website is dated
1997.
I get the feeling I may be the
one responsible for this
2002 edition not making
it to Cynthia to be posted.
The problem was that
in order to reflect any collection
changes, either the doc had to
be routed around, or the changes
had to be sent in to someone
(which I suspect was me)
and then The Someone would
have a student assistant
input changes. Which I'm
under the impression happened -
but please check and make
sure that your collection levels
are correctly stated.
Since I know my map library's
collecting parameters have
changed to some extent since
2002, I'd be willing to give
the updating one more try,
if you're willing to give me
the chance:-)
The easiest way to do this
updating, if we're having
the changes sent to one
of us and then changes input
on the MSWord file,
is for persons to make
the changes on a printout
in a color - red is good.
2. The Question:
Why does the Conspectus
go from "G3650-3654 St. Pierre & Miquelon"
to "G4360-4361 California" and
later on from the end of California
"G4364.S5 San Francisco"
right to "G4410-4763 Mexico"?
Why are we leaving out the
other states of the U.S.?
My guess is it's because we
figure that the map libraries in
each state are responsible for
collecting intensively for that
state.
