Our method is similar to Wendie's. We get them on standing order; we
assign the same call number, with the
DF number added. While awaiting cataloging (often provided by UCSC if I
recall correctly), I put a brief record (title,
sometimes author, DF series #) in our catalog; and then shelve them for
public use. Periodically we review our
"temp cat" (temporary cataloging) records, and, if there's a good record in
oclc, we overwrite our brief record with
the more complete entry.
